On the glorious completion of twenty five years of Hem Sheela Model School Durgapur, the Founder President Dr. Rabindra N. Roy, the Vice President Dr. Pratima K. Roy and the management decided to establish a school under the same trust HEMCHANDRA SHEELABATI MEMORIAL EDUCATIONAL TRUST, in their ancestral plot which has nostalgic memories of the founder president.

Even after serving as a Chairman and Head of the Department of Drury University, Missouri, USA for fifty years, he did not forget his roots. So, on the request of the community people he decided to lay the foundation of HEM SHEELA MODEL SCHOOL, Dhandabag, considering the necessary facilities which the school can cater to the local inhabitants of Dhandabag and its suburbs; Ukhra, Raniganj and Asansol. As a result HEM SHEELA MODEL SCHOOL, Dhandabag took its first step in the academic session 2021 – 2022 for pre-nursery to class five.
